Series Review.
Are you old enough to remember the old Addams' Family? You might have seen one of the replays, or read any of the cartoons. Skip the nineties-something movie, and forget about the animated series. What you need is the original, weird stuff. So, where does the Netflix series sit?
Fun versus fear
Where the sixties series was all fun and comedy, the new Netlix Wednesday is about teen angst, growing up, with a dash of the macabre (and a bit of humor) mixed in. And yet, it's fantastic. There is still hope for decent television / series.
Tim Burton -- who seems to a bit overindulgent when it comes to his own works -- gets it right this time. This needs a bit of his weirdness, and he mixed in just enough of the little touches that remind of, or refer back to the original series, like the double snap.
Season 2
Will there be another season? Does this need another season? Probably not on both accounts, but perhaps another installment could investigate the whereabouts of the other characters. For example, how about a road trip together with uncle Fester? Ah, one can only dream...
The verdict
Yeah, great stuff. Watch!
