You can't kill the dead. Well, it turns out you can. With a bit of training.

You know what's worse though than killing dead? Next to being kicked out of hell and finding out you're not entirely human? That must be staying a virgin after meeting your favorite porn star, but I guess that's only a problem if your name is Jason Stark.

Story

Here's another installment of Sandman Slim, where foul-mouthed James Stark does exactly what he's good at... solving problems by killing them. No, wait, taking out their spines. You can't kill a zombie, as the zombie is already dead.

I was a little confused at first, somehow missing out on Hollywood working on the Devil's biopic, but that never stopped me from enjoying the novel, and may have been mostly a problem on my side 🤔😇

One note: the first book was better, the jokes fresher, the setting less complicated. Let's see what comes next...

Narration

A good match for the character.

Verdict

I like this stuff. A bit detective noir, or demonic noir (?) that gets the gruff and grumpy right. And Sandman never gets it easy, so he's entitled to his foul language.

So yes. Read it.
