I'm still alive. I had my shots. Got pretty sick of the first batch, less so from the second inoculation. Then, a couple of months ago, I caught Corona / Covid myself, in spite of the inoculations...
And I mean awfully sick.
My oldest daughter picked it up first, several symptoms at once. Though the whole package wasn't much more than simply a light flu to her, the test still came back positive. One day later my (self)test was positive as well. After that, I got awfully sick.
Think 40 degrees fever for a few days, reaching the point where I couldn't walk steady and wasn't entirely sure what I was doing anymore. (My average temp is around 36, and I can't recall ever having a fever of 40 degrees all my life.)
Those days of aimlessly wandering through the house (couldn't think clear) were followed by one day loss of smell, few days sore throat, then two weeks of a nasty cold, followed by a few weeks of not being on top of my game.
I count myself lucky. I don't seem to suffer from long covid or any other lasting effects. I'm still alive. I haven't been in the hospital for weeks. But not everybody makes it.
So, dear nay-sayers: Corona / Covid is pretty damn real, and it can make you seriously ill. If the inoculations are supposed to increase your resistance, then I guess I might not have made it without them. So fxck you. I'm going to get my booster shot as soon as allowed, and whenever there's a new variant I'll take the inoculation against that one as soon as available. I don't need another couple of days wondering if I'll make it or not.
It's fxckxng real. So there. If you disagree or don't want to take a shot, that's fine. Stay away, do what you want. Migrate to China, for all I care. Just shut up and stop saying Covid isn't real, because it fxckxng is. Younger people seem to be able to handle it way better than older people. I'm not old yet (50+) but apparently old enough to get seriously sick, and I have the feeling I came a little closer to the edge than I really liked.
So face it. It's here. It's not going to go away. And it will mess up our lives. Is that bad? Well, it's just something we have to deal with, and then life goes on... for those that survived.
So fxck you, naysayers. Thank you NOT for endangering others and spreading misinformation. Fxck you.
