D&D - Cloak & Dagger

RPG Book Review

Let's add another D&D product review.

This isn't the Marvel based TV show, but the TSR Dungeons & Dragons book from 2000, and it details some (hidden) factions in the Forgotten Realms setting.

Cloak & Dagger

Soft cover, 2nd edition, with 158 pages of text and a few pieces of B&W artwork. This book offers additional information on certain (secret and not so secret) societies and factions throughout the Forgotten Realms.

Do you need it? Probably not. Especially not as the world has moved on (especially in the Forgotten Realms) and large portions of this book have become invalid by all the events heralding the arrival of 3rd and 4th edition.

(If anything, these maps are a good indicator of the changes this world / setting went through.)

I, personally, prefer the flavor of the old (2nd edition) realms over the later iterations. I'm not sure I'm ever going to use anything from this book, but it's yet another part of my collection, and something to browse through on a rainy day afternoon.

Alternative Cover

What's with that other, strange cover that you run into on the Internet? I've never seen it in real life. Concept art, maybe?
