It's the end of the year, so here we go again... Good intentions.
I have a few... Pretty much the same as last year and I just might fail yet again. But I'm going to try again! I'll tell you next year how things ended up...
Prime goals for this year
1. Loose weight. Period.
I don't want to die. I guess I'll simply have to work on it.
I was tempted to add 'sport more', but that's pretty much an essential to item 1, so I left it out...
2. Spend less time on my phone. Period.
Getting older means my joints are not as smooth as they were, and now that's starting to affect my neck. There's a clear coherence between time spent on the phone, and the way my neck feels (hurts) so... Stop using the phone.
3. Wrap up TWO books. Period.
With one book forever in editing hell and the second one yet to see a decent edit... Well, I've been postponing, procrastinating, and lazy. THIS YEAR IT HAS TO HAPPEN.
Current state:
Book 1 - final edit
Book 2 - raw edit
Secondary goals
4. Find another job
Though I currently have a job I expect the project that I work on to be closed August or September or something like that. I'd better find something new when the time comes. Yeah, it's not a good intention, but it definitely is a goal.
5. Travel the Alps
I do own an MX-5, right? I've done Spain, Portugal, and the Pyrenees this year, but those real twisty curbs... for those I have to visit Austria, Switzerland, and Italy. So, yes. I'm going to do some mountain passes this year!
6. Help my eldest daughter find a home
My eldest daughter has a disability and is still living at home. Me, I'm getting older, and there comes a time I can no longer take care of her. Step one is finding her a nice place to live. So that's another goal for next year.
7. Clean up the garden
It's a mess (TM) 😎
8. Refresh the house
Yeah, it's about time I 'touch up' the bathroom, the kitchen, repaints some bits. Everyone who owns a house knows the drill.
9. Play more D&D (or any other RPG)
I played for a while in a great gaming group in Amstelveen, but I'm not playing at the moment. And I need to play more before I need a walker to find my way to the gaming table...
