Kodi v19.3 on Android / Windows - Path to media

Want to use your Nvidia Shield or Google Chromecast with Google TV (what a horrible name) to play back files from a home (Windows) server using Kodi?

On Android you cannot browse SMB shared drives, and you have to specify them by hand using their IP address.

Windows

1. Videos / Files / Add videos

2. Either browse to the server, or enter a path (click on '<None>')

3. Use the server name, as in:

SMB://MEDIA7/video_kids/

Android

On Android you cannot browse. You will have to enter the path by hand.

1. Video / Files / Add videos

2. Click on '<None>'

3. Use the IP address, as in:

SMBL//10.0.0.15/video_anime/
