Alan Parsons - The Secret

Review.

After 15 years of of live concerts, rehashes and other activities Parsons finally went back into the studio and recorded The Secret.

And it’s much better than the previous A Valid Path which was, frankly, a disappointment. This one's much, much better!

CD+DVD

The Secret isn’t his best yet (though it is growing on me) but it’s good enough. It could use a little more ' grandiose orchestral ' stuff, a little more pathos, but then again I’ve always been a sucker for the theatrical.

Eric Woolfson is no more, but perhaps Parsons might just invite John Miles to bring his guitar? Add a couple of violins? How about a complete orchestra? Ah, I can only hope and dream…

Surprisingly I received the CD+DVD, expecting the CD only version. No idea why. The DVD 5.1 audio mix is nothing special, so if the CD only version comes cheaper you just might pick that one. If you still do discs, that is.

Best song: Requiem.
