SQB has been updated to 0.22x. It now can launch multiple instances of Sox, vastly improving conversion speed (3 to 4 times faster in typical use scenarios on a Ryzen 12 core processor).
About
I wrote this program primarily for my own use, but if you have many .FLAC files and you need to convert some folders to .MP3 this might come in handy.
Sooo... if your car / MP3 player doesn't support playlists, or doesn't support .FLAC files, or you are in desperate need to fix your painful collection of LMS playlists, then this is for you.
Update 0.22x
- multi instance support
- speed improvements
- some minor bug fixes
- transcopy report window
- abort function
Speed improvement
- Server -> client Ryzen 1600X running SQB -> USB3 external drive
- 737 MB / 18 FLAC + 20 MP3 / converting FLACs to CBR320 Q0
- 1 instance: 74 sec
- 12 instances: 22 sec
The above is a typical real-life scenario, moving a bunch of files to an external drive. Some of those files are .FLAC and are converted to .MP3 'on the fly'.
I know there are many other tools out there that do the same thing, but in combination with a Logitech SqueezeBox server I like mine better 😅
