Secomber

Someone asked me about the old Secomber file I created 10 (20?) years ago. In answer I restored a few pages from the old website. If you're interested in a (very small) part of the Forgotten Realms setting then have a peek.

It's here in the archive and includes a large map by yours truly.

Update

Update, I'm doing a clean-up twenty years later... I'll change the page and make the new PDF available when it's done. I started with looking for updates and maps... and look what I found 😇

New Scans

I've updated the scans. They can be found here.

Hello! We're an Italian group working on an adventure for DMGuild. We've carefully reviewed your PDF on Secomber, and we would kindly like to ask you to clarify what is considered canonical and what belongs to your original material. We want to ensure we fully respect your work and avoid any possible misunderstandings. Thank you so much for your assistance!

PS. Since your material is public and could help others too, I've decided to reach out to you directly here rather than privately.

    2. Frankly, that's an awful long time ago I worked on Secomber :-)

I wrote this at the time in such a way that it would fit into the 2nd edition setting, without breaking anything's. Some details might have aged since then, but I think it's still easy to insert this into any edition FR campaign, as Secomber is quite out of the way.

Also, a consistent history has never been the FR's strong suit :-)

      Lessee...

All the maps I drew myself. The FR maps are based upon original TSR / WOTC works, though I might have mode some minor modifications.

The Secomber maps are all mine, so are most of the Secomber locations. I extrapolated some of descriptions from different FR sources and turned those into the town as documented / mapped in here.

The Seven Stringed Harp is a location from a Volo's Guide to the Sword Coast, IIRC.

The Waukeen disappearance and reference is based on TSR material.

Jingleshod, Wulgreth, Traskar Selarn, Alustriel, Erik, and Amelior Amanitas are sourced from TSR material (notably TSR1142 and TSR9233) though I added things I found on the web.

All the Wulgreth stuff is a mash-up of things I found on the web. Some of it may not be canon. The same applies to Jingleshod. As these are rather obscure characters you could easily insert them into any setting / time period.

Vastan Keep, the Grey Riders and Unicorn Riders are a mash-up of different other ideas, sources and tidbits, and are pretty much my take on them.

Kelvin Thryst, the CSSC, the CSSC characters and ships, Basic Law, Court, Town Council, Waterdeep Garrison and Secomber Militia are my inventions. I think. If my memory still serves me :-)

You are, by the way, allowed to use any of my Secomber stuff. A link to ninelizards.com or a mention of NineLizards would be appreciated (especially if you use the maps) but it is not required for non-commercial purposes. If you SELL a product then I don't want money but I do want that credit as NineLizards :-)

More importantly though: have fun with it!

    3. Whoops! One error:

Sir Thronthgar 'Skullsplitter' is based upon J.A. Jones original character. Then again, I have no clue who J.A. Jones is, or where his original material once was on the web.

Thanks Ninelizards, in case you have any updates, we remain in the shadows to discover more and more! Happy holidays.
