How about diving into other people's minds... Could be fun, right? Here's the 'slip into someone's mind' 2014's Stitchers which I would rapidly exchange for a remake of VR5.
In Stitchers the main character gets 'stitched' into the memories of dead people, helping to solve crimes (typically, ttrying to find out the reasons why those people died). It's a procedural, after all...
VR-5
Ah. VR5 (or VR-5 or VR.5), so much better, and so much ahead of its time.
I finally thought up a way to make the 'dial into someone's brain' thing become more believable in these modern times, so who's hiring me to write those new VR5 scripts, produce that new VR5 show, and become silly rich in the process? No one?!?
Damn.
The Verdict
Back to Stitchers which -- frankly -- didn't do it for me. It's amazing this thing even lasted three seasons. I couldn't even complete the first one...
Don't waste your time on this one.
