I never saw all episodes of B5 thus far, so I'm watching them now. (But I realise that I saw quite a few, to be honest.) I watched this late at night, on a Hong Kong television channel whilst I was working in China, back in... 1995? Time flies...

Disney+ - Firefly

Series Review.

Joss Whedon delivered another classic, even though it was canceled before its time. It's cowboys and rebels in space, but not exactly...

It only took some out-of-order broadcasting to kill this show. Fortunately it received some well-deserved wrap-up in the form of a movie.

Watch it. Even if you don't like Whedon as a person, his TV shows were (and still are!) great.

Can you still find that (SF) movie, or has Enshittification (TM) taken over full force?

Perhaps not as good as the original Orphan Black (ignoring the nose-dive and recovery near the end of that show) but still quite interesting. I wasn’t expecting the killing of such an essential character near the end though… Was it to attract new viewers, or the original plan of the creators? Who can tell?

As you may have noticed I do like (some) military SF, and it’s fine if that borders on not all too realistic Space Opera. However, regardless of the believably of the generic concept I still like to see some consistency. Or at least stick to certain mechanics and principles.
