I've only read this one a few weeks ago, and I'm already forgetting about this one. I guess that means it did not leave that much of an impression behind.
Synopsis
High school student, living in our modern world, suffers from all sorts of mishaps. She lives all alone in a haunted apartment near her school, with a much older hot hunk in the apartment next to her. And much of her memory is vague.
It turns out he's fae, a shape changer, and in love with her since she was a baby. He was responsible for wiping her memory, paid her apartment, and is about to die because he's cursed. To survive he has to give her up, and he won't.
Of course he can shape change into a younger hunk to take her to prom. And of course their love is mutual, triggered by a 'heart song'.
It's a bit of a 'by the numbers' romantasy that I normally would have never picked up. Why did I read it? Well, I have a Kobo Plus account, and I'm browsing through the Kobo Plus (free) collection. I must admit I haven't been that impressed thus far, to be honest...
Narration
Fine. No comments.
The Verdict
Straightforward romantasy, doesn't move into the 'random sex chapter' territory (that's a plus) but the age difference is making me feel a bit queasy.
Fine to waste some time on, but there's much better stuff out there.
