Fowler's Roofworld is like a 'light' version of Gaiman's Neverwhere. Still it is an enjoyable read. Imagine a world with its own rules, just above our heads, where drop-outs have created their own society with their own rules. It's an entertaining romp.
Good reading if you like light fantasy, though perhaps it's not exactly fantasy... some genres are hard to specify 😏

My copy of Roofworld was split up in two parts: the first section was the novel Roofworld, the second part a collection of short stories. Those were, frankly, not that good, but if anything that makes Roofworld standing out even more...
I'm thinking about re-reading this one, but I lost my copy 😒
After the very good Roofworld I had high expectations for Rune. Too bad.
The book had my attention, during the first half. Then things got repetitive, and the story went nowhere. It's a pity because I liked the settings, the characters, the backgrounds, the events (except the end), but it all boiled down to too many pages and not enough plot.
