This is a well known series, in which the last of the Antari (dimension hopping mages) discovers his ancestry, and fights an all consuming magic evil.
It's pretty good, but I didn't find it as exceptional as it is often made out to be. Still good though.
Why?
Parts were somewhat predictable, and the main male protagonist was a little too much a Johnny-be-good type of character for my taste. His female counterpart, fortunately, was grey as hell, and I like that 😁
The magic was okay, rules fairly consistent, and the different versions of London (red, black, white) were nice. But again, nice. Not exceptionally original, nor a cast that swept me off my feet. Sorry.
Synopsis
Royal (adopted) son is one of the last individuals who can travel between worlds. Fights an evil that has destroyed one of those worlds and that brought aforementioned interworld travel to a halt. Falls in love with kickass female rogue. I think that's about it 😏
Narration
No complaints, doing a fine job
The Verdict
A good read and enjoyable romp, but it's not life shattering, reality conquering material. Just normal good. Which is still good 😋
