Twitter reading limits... are a good thing!

Column.

Elon Musk is still messing around with Twitter (aka the sewer of the Internet) and this time he has irked the user base by imposing limits.

I applaud his actions.

Why?

At first he explained that “verified” Twitter users would be limited to reading 6,000 posts per day, regular users would be limited to reading 600 posts per day, and newly created accounts would be limited to reading 300 posts per day.

I mean, if each text message takes you 10 seconds, then 6000 messages per day would take away 60000 seconds of your life. Yes. 60000 seconds, that's more than 16.5 hours per day.

Even at 600 messages you'd be spending 1.6 hours on reading garbage. Good move, Elon!

Update.

New numbers!

Verified users will be limited to reading 10,000 tweets per day, unverified accounts can only access 1,000 posts, and 500 posts per day for new unverified users.

It doesn't make any of the messages themselves any better...
