Netflix - Spiderman - No Way Home

Movie Review.

Maybe it's formally not part of the MCU (as in being more of a Sony than a Marvel property) but hey, it fits nicely, and Doctor Strange does a good job making things worse.

The movie is enjoyable if a little forgettable. Tom Holland is great, as usual. I'm still not convinced by Zendaya (a little overhyped) but the best participants in this movie are the faces of old...

Spoilers

It's pretty much impossible to talk about this movie without giving away spoilers, so here we go: it's great to see Dafoe and Maguire again. So yes, Holland's Spiderman meets both Andrew Garfield's and Tobey Maguire's version, plus some enemies from those universes. It's a pity there's no Michael Keaton in there, but hey, this is okay. The Spidermen meet, and that's cool.

The biggest takeaway from this movie? Nobody knows anymore who Spiderman is, though I like the early comic version (smart mouthing, a bit of a Deadpool-Lite) best. Though I have to admit, Miles Moralis and Gwen Stacey have grown on me since then, especially since the first Spiderverse movie.

Now, this movie finally gives me a reason to give the Amazing Spiderman movies a go. They never attracted me, but as they are more or less wrapped up in this one... why not. Garfield finally gets to rescue the girl... how sweet.

Movies

Huh? Did the blog list that few movies?!? I guess I have to add a few more one of these days...
